Learn more about Caitlin's passion for creativity and leadership
Caitlin Crowe is an entrepreneur (founder of Topo Pino), Certified Health Coach, and blogger in Portland, Maine outside of her full-time finance career. With a background in finance, entrepreneurship, international nonprofit work, event planning, and figure skating, Caitlin brings a truly unique approach to wellness that sets her apart from other coaches.
Caitlin has been passionate about wellness and creativity on an individual and community level since she was a child. Her father is an accomplished internal medicine physician and community health leader, as well as jazz/blues musician which contributed to her strong interest in wellness and creativity at an early age. Caitlin’s expression of creativity started blossoming on the ice at the age of 4. Her love of figure skating evolved into a passion which she pursued with a private coach throughout middle and high school. One of the things that Caitlin loves most about figure skating is the way it combines movement and creativity—successful figure skating requires grace, fluidity, and athletic strength. She also started writing poetry at an early age and was published in a children’s magazine called Creative Kids by the age of 12.
While attaining her degree at Dartmouth College, Caitlin focused her studies on economic development and the human/environment relationship. While studying abroad, she lived in France, the Czech Republic, and Ghana, which broadened her knowledge of how other cultures build community and express themselves creatively. Caitlin’s international work culminated in World Partners in Education, a nonprofit that she co-founded. During her time living in Ghana, she realized the value of one-on-one coaching when she tutored students in math and reading. The nonprofit evolved into a coaching program for local Ghanaian teachers and was highly effective during its five years of operation. Caitlin believes education is the root of economic development and community.
As a way to further deepen her knowledge of wellness and creativity, Caitlin completed the Wellcoaches Health Coach training program. Encouraging the expression of creativity is a key aspect of Caitlin’s coaching. Caitlin believes that creativity plays a significant role in one’s sense of well-being. She says, “When one becomes inspired creatively, positive emotions increase, and it becomes possible to think of new ways of achieving goals.” Numerous studies show that creative self-expression can influence cognitive and psychological health as well as physical conditions. Caitlin hopes that through her work she can help others unlock their creativity so that they can lead fulfilling, meaningful lives.
Throughout Caitlin Crowe’s life, nature has influenced her creative endeavors. As a child, Caitlin often spent time at Topo Pino in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Caitlin’s grandfather purchased Topo Pino’s 32 acres over 50 years ago. The summer days that Caitlin spent hiking, swimming, and kayaking are some of her most cherished childhood memories. Caitlin transformed Topo Pino from a family property into a destination glamping retreat after moving back to Maine. Today, Caitlin often visits nature to be inspired, practice photography, write poetry or simply reset. Caitlin enjoys sharing the beauty of Topo Pino and nature with others through her candles. If you ask Caitlin Crowe what the best part of working as a health coach is, she says, “The best part is helping others realize their dreams and seeing clients make progress with their goals on a daily and weekly basis.” Caitlin looks forward to continuing to help people unlock their creativity while realizing their leadership and wellness goals.
