Cultivating Cadence

Spinning -- the art of staying centered.
Throughout life, the value of being mentored.
The creative self stepping into the light.
How does one know their path is right?
The forces of nature pulling on the heart.
Trust in your soul, a place to start.
What does centering mean to you?
A circle, a rhythm, a list to do?
The creative path ebbs through life.
Showing itself when least it might.
A spark turns to fire, the soul aflame.
Creativity flowing, no reason to tame.
Internal fires linger from the past.
Where they started and how they last.
My creative was always on the ice.
One two jump, don't even think twice.
My blades gliding, choppy it may be.
‘Tis a feeling only the heart can see.
So trust in the spinning, the art of centering.
Never forget to reflect on mentoring.
We are teachers of the self and to others.
Don't let your goals stay still and hover.
You know when your cadence is right.
It's just a feeling, of moving with light.

Grit to Glitter

My heart is full en route to my 200th ride
Excitement so great it's hard to hide
A time to reflect on this grand adventure
Peloton's power at the very center
The quiet glide of each pedal stroke
Our bodies sweating, a beautiful cloak
Looking inside the depths of our heart
Beating faster is the place to start
The elimination of all dark thought
A watering of the spirit that cannot be bought
Through this glisten, our dreams emerge
Growing bigger with every surge
Daily progress, the most essential of goals
Working together, kindred souls
Heads raised high with hearts open
Allowing the Peloton to be awoken
To the beauty around us, big and small
Helping each other after every fall
Gratitude for everyone's unique strength
Each day a fresh chance to crank
Through hard work we turn grit to glitter
Our mind, body and spirit even fitter
I enter this experience, smile so wide

Head up heart open, time to ride.

Strength in Numbers

A single candle burns in the dark of night
It stretches its rays with all its might
Yet when a similar flame joins the fire
The dreams grow deeper with desire
They feed off each other, oxygen the fuel
We all have the ultimate tool
Our hearts withstand more together
Prepared for any storm to weather
Strengthening the mind, body and spirit
Our worst enemy is to fear it
So together we grow, stronger every day
Reaching for more, time to disobey
Your perceived edges, you thought your limit
No longer the time to be timid
Test yourself is the only way to grow
Everyone has their individual path they know
Although your path is solely for you
Striving together makes dreams come true.

Beads of Strength

The day my Peloton finally arrived
I jumped right on and started to strive
Totally in love from the first pedal stroke
My heart did pound, I was scared to croak
With each new dawn I continue to ride
Going all in with every single stride
All of the coaches have their own special way
Of making me push – let’s make hay
I rise in the saddle, in line with the beat
Today is a good day to create some heat
I make adjustments to resistance and cadence
This is how I feel my radiance
The bike has truly changed my life
I no longer feel any elements of strife
I am eager to sweat with each sunrise
My peak health is the ultimate prize
So thank you Peloton and my fellow tribe
I treasure you dearly – it’s water we imbibe
Personal records come in many different forms
Medals are nice, but it’s strength we adorn.

This Day

This day is a gift
Take the lift
And discover your joys
They are not toys
Give what you can
Start with a pen
Scribble down your dreams
Until they burst at the seams
Then dig a little deeper
Know you are the keeper
Of each and every goal
In all of your soul
There may bumps in the road
That feel like a heavy load
But keep pressing on
With each new dawn
Your dreams will shine through
In all that is you
So take this day
Give all that you may
Until you burst at the seams
With the joy of your dreams.
